Will join other industry experts to tackle cyber security challenges
Cincinnati-OH– Boomarang’s President and Senior Project Manager, Christopher Bomar has been selected as a presenter at this year’s Cyber Security Symposium at Northern Kentucky University’s Center for Applied Infomatics (CAI).
In it’s 6th year, the symposium “focuses on IT security challenges, best practices, and professional discussions. This annual symposium brings together IT professionals for engaging talks, training, and live demos of cutting edge security products.”
Mr. Bomar will present a one-hour session from 9:40am-10:40am entitled Is Your Cyber-Zipper Down: How to Address Cyber Security Risk Management for SMBs and Nonprofits. The break-out session will cover high level aspects of cyber security risk management for small businesses and non-profit organizations. Mr. Bomar will discuss current and forthcoming data privacy and security laws, and case studies. The session will include establishing a cyber security culture in the workplace, network and privacy liability, how to appoint a safeguard program coordinator, cyber-liability insurance, best practices and due diligence for small entities. This presentation is part of the symposium’s Information Security Governance track.
The 2013 Cyber Security Symposium will be held on Friday, October 18th from 8:15am-4:30pm at NKU’s MET Center. The cost is free and open to the public.
